Let’s talk
← All three ways
03 / Finding the right care community

A new address.
The same promise.

Sometimes keeping the promise means finding a place that can offer the support Mom needs now. You can remain her person, wherever she lives.

Talk about this path
Keep the promise.
Somewhere new.
01

Start with the life she wants

Her routines, the people she wants nearby, and the things that make a place feel like hers.

02

Understand the support

Ask what care is included, what happens as needs change, and how family stays involved.

03

Visit with better questions

Look beyond the lobby. Ask about daily life, staffing, costs, and the details that matter to Mom.

A thoughtful next step

You are not choosing a place instead of her.

You are looking for a place where she can be supported—and where you can keep showing up as her family.

Questions worth asking

A few questions you may have

Let’s make room
for the questions.

Does exploring mean we have to move?+

No. Looking at options can help a family understand what is possible. You can gather information before making a decision.

How do we compare communities?+

Use the same questions on every visit. Compare the actual care offered, total costs, everyday routines, and how comfortable Mom feels asking for what she needs.

What should we know about placement fees?+

Before accepting help with a search, ask who pays the advisor, whether referrals are compensated, and which communities are included. Get the explanation in writing.

A gentle beginning

You don’t need a plan.
Just a place to start.

Tell us a little about what’s changing. We can talk through what might help—and what feels right for Mom.
